Legal, Disclaimers & Confidentiality

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing Skylight Cloud or using a SkyLight controller, you agree to these terms. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Skylight Cloud provides remote monitoring, control, scheduling, and firmware update delivery for SkyLight controllers. Controllers operate autonomously: schedules run on the device and continue during any interruption of the cloud service. Cloud features are provided on a subscription basis and may evolve over time.

3. Not a life-safety system

SkyLight products are scheduling convenience controls. They are not life-safety devices and must not be used as the sole control for equipment whose failure to operate — or unexpected operation — could result in personal injury, property damage, or code non-compliance (including code-mandated ventilation, emergency lighting, or fire systems). Installation of controlled circuits must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable electrical codes.

4. Disclaimer of warranties

Except as expressly stated in the product's written limited warranty, the service and products are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Electron Automation does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Electron Automation LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including loss of use, loss of revenue, equipment damage, or costs of substitute services — arising from use of, or inability to use, the products or the service. Total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amounts paid for the product or service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

6. Confidentiality

Information exchanged between you and Electron Automation in the course of sales, support, or deployment — including site layouts, schedules, fleet configurations, and account details — is treated as confidential. We do not sell your data. We do not disclose your operational data to third parties except (a) to service providers strictly as needed to operate the service (e.g. hosting, email delivery), (b) when required by law, or (c) with your consent.

You agree likewise not to disclose non-public information about the service, including security mechanisms, API details, and pricing terms provided under quotation, without written permission.

7. Data & privacy

Skylight Cloud stores the data needed to operate your fleet: account information (name, email, optional phone number for alerts), controller identity and telemetry (online status, relay states, schedules, event logs, firmware versions), and billing records processed by our payment provider. Telemetry is used to provide dashboards, alerts, and support — not for advertising. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via contact@electronautomation.us.

8. Intellectual property

All software, firmware, documentation, and branding are the property of Electron Automation LLC. Controllers accept only firmware cryptographically signed by Electron Automation; reverse engineering, extraction, or re-flashing of device firmware is prohibited except where permitted by applicable law.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
